BANNER PROJECT

The Campbell River Arts Council presents the 33rd Annual Banner Project in 2025! Over 100 inspirational banners will be created this spring by local school children, families, organizations and artists. Throughout this summer and fall, they will be enjoyed on the streets of Willow Point, Pier Street, Shoppers Row, St. Ann’s Road, Spirit Square and The Spit.

THEME

In 2025 the banner theme is Living Oceans. We’d love the banners to show the abundant life in our local waters and the creatures that live and thrive in the ocean. Show us what healthy oceans look like and what we can all do to keep them full of life. The banner kits include more information about the theme and tips on how to paint a banner. It’s up to you and we welcome your creativity.

TIMING

All completed banners must be delivered to Sybil Andrews Cottage by Friday, May 16.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

We are grateful to have the continued support of the City of Campbell River to help cover costs so that banner kits are free. They carefully install every single banner around town.

Sherwin-Williams paint store at Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre very generously provides all the kit paint. They have enthusiastically been involved in the past and we certainly couldn’t do this without paint.

This year we welcome the Campbell River Community Foundation as a partner. We appreciate their support for this decades-long community favourite activity.

READY TO REGISTER?

Each painter registers here to reserve a banner kit. Banner Coordinator Alison will connect with all painters about picking up their kit. If you are part of a group, you can designate a leader to register. If you are part of a school program, please continue to email Alison about your banner kits.

WE CAN STILL ENJOY 2024 BANNERS!

Thank you to everyone who painted banners in 2024. They brightened the streets throughout last summer and are posted below so we can continue enjoying them. They are not yet available for purchase by the artists. Check back for more details.

Thank you, people of Campbell River,
for beautifying our streets with your colourful imagination.
