Call for Artists!

The Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) in partnership with the Campbell River Arts Council are calling to artists to submit work for the following projects.
 
VENUE
Three (3) murals in the 900 block of Shoppers Row next to CR Community Health Services, Secrets of Asia and Harbor Nails. One (1) mural on the wall between French Creek Collective and the Bank of Montreal.
 
Artists will be paid for the use of their image, transferred to a vinyl wrap for installation on the wall.  The artists retain all copyright of the image.
 
WORK MEDIA
The work can be in the form of painting, photography or collage.
 
WORK SIZE
Dimensions of the sites.  Artists are encouraged to visit the four (4) wall sites.
 
1.CR Community Health Services (Mary Poppins poster on the wall) – 100″  wide by 10′  high
 
2. Wall by Secrets of Asia – 48″ wide by 10′ high (facing north)
 
3. Wall by Harbor Nails – 49″ wide by 10′ high (facing south)
 
4. Wall between French Creek Collective and the Bank of Montreal – 67″ wide by 9′ high (facing north)
 
REQUIREMENTS
Artists are to provide a cover letter describing their proposal.

Once images are selected from email submissions, artists will be asked to provide digital images on a flash drive or CD/DVD.  Images should be presented in JPEG format set to 300 dpi resolution.  Images should be 4″ x 6″.
 
SELECTION PROCESS
Artists’ submissions will be judged by representatives from the Downtown BIA, the CR Arts Council and the CR Art Gallery.
 
NOTIFICATION TO ARTIST
Artists will be notified by email of the final selections.
 
PUBLICITY
The project will be covered by the CR Mirror, Downtown Campbell River, the Arts Council website, Facebook and Instagram.
