Artists Painting Banners!

The Arts Council is looking for artists to paint a banner or two – or three – for this year’s Annual Banner Project. This will be the 24th Annual Banner Project in Campbell River.

The theme for 2016 is: “Streams and Rivers.” We would love banners that depict the many facets of our waterways: the rivers, the forests and lakes around them, the nature that surrounds these places and the wildlife and fish that thrive therein. There are so many directions you can take.

Once again the Banner Project is sponsored by the Pacific Salmon Foundation. The Foundation raises money and makes grants to volunteer organizations that work on behalf of salmon across the province – $37.5 million invested in volunteer-driven salmon projects that have engaged more than 35,000 volunteers. The Pacific Salmon Foundation was established in 1987 as an independent, non-governmental, charitable organization to protect, conserve and rebuild Pacific salmon populations through strategic efforts.

Banners should be completed by the end of April. Please contact the Arts Council to pick up your banner(s). Banners can be painted at the Sybil Andrews Cottage by arrangement.

If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to the office (email: admin@crarts.ca).

We look forward to you joining the 2016 Banner Project.
